I've not updated since... May, according to my last journal entry. Now, I've not been entirely lazy, I have been drawing and whatnot, I just haven't been able to get working on anything in photoshop because I've been crazy busy with dread orders and life in general.
Currently... there's not much going on. I'm not back at unni yet and it doesn't look like I will be for a long time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and trying to stay optimistic about things though. Frankly, all I want to do is get back into my comfort zone and surround myself with paints, pencils, sketchbooks and all things art related.
I's an absolute pain in my arse that I can't just paint and draw whenever I feel like it at the moment. I've got so many ideas just spilling out of me and I can't get anything done. I'm not uploading any more of my modelling work because frankly I don't think it's really 'my' art to be showing off. After all, I just style myself and my makeup, I don't compose the image and make it what it is really.
What do you guys think? Do you consider it to be 'my' art too, even though I'm the one in the picture and the camera never came near my hands?
I'm slightly considering deleting the entire album of my modelling work, but I just don't know... opinions greatly appreciated!
I need to get back to my roots and just start drawing, painting and whatever else. It's been so long since I just picked up a pencil and let myself go. Doing a Game Design kind of ruined it for me, since everything was so structured and I couldn't just create pretty pictures with no real purpose other than to be purely aesthetically pleasing. That's how I felt anyway, and it wasn't for me, hense the reason I left.
So, my action plan is something like this...
1) Save some money up, get down to the nearest art supply shop and buy new brushes, paints, pencils, sketchbooks, canvas' and possibly an easel
2) Commandeer a room in the house and set myself up a nice little work area
3) Throw some ideas around, see what happens
4) Get re-aquainted with my old friend photoshop, and get to know illustrator a bit more too
5) Start creating some goddamn ART!
Here's hoping this actually happens, I'll be a much happier girly
